Yesterday, Alessandro Michele staged a true fashion spectacle for Valentino Spring/Summer Haute Couture in Paris. Yet, it came as no surprise — every couture show under his direction is precisely that: an immersive event that transcends fashion and enters the realm of culture, symbolism, and emotion.

While some designers are re-centering haute couture as the highest form of personal luxury, focused on its hidden, sensory pleasures, others are fulfilling high fashion’s promise as the ultimate escape from reality. With this Valentino collection, Alessandro Michele achieved both.

Staged only days after Valentino Garavani’s funeral in Rome, the show carried an unmistakable emotional gravity. Yet Michele did not soften his vision. Instead, couture became a space for transformation — a ritualistic, almost sacred visual experience.
