Under a full moon and crystal-clear skies, Moncler Grenoble staged its Fall 2026 runway show in Aspen on Saturday night—marking the first time the Italian luxury house has transformed a U.S. ski destination into the stage for its high-performance line.
Following its recent alpine spectacles in Courchevel and St. Moritz, the move brought a distinctly American spirit to the brand’s technical universe. Aspen, with its layered identity and cinematic aura, proved a natural evolution.
Gigi Hadid opened the show wearing a neckerchief and a fringed jacket, channeling an almost cinematic après-ski heroine. She set the tone for a procession of models navigating a snow-covered piste carved with moguls, many dressed in plaid and checkered shirt-jackets that echoed both mountain utility and frontier nostalgia.
Western Codes, Alpine Precision
Western references were woven seamlessly throughout the collection—from wide-brimmed, Stetson-inspired hats, now as common in Aspen as ski helmets, to cowboy-inflected Moon Boots created as part of Moncler’s ongoing collaboration with the footwear brand.
The Aspen leaf emerged as a recurring motif, appearing in prints and laser-cut embellishments, while an illustrated map of the town—complete with local wildlife—was splashed across blanket capes and silk foulard scarves.
A Shared Mountain Heritage
These gestures were more than decorative. Aspen’s past—first a 19th-century mining town, later a mid-century refuge for artists, athletes, and Hollywood icons—mirrors Moncler’s own evolution.
Founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, Moncler originally outfitted mountain workers and explorers. That utilitarian DNA, now elevated to luxury, aligns naturally with Aspen’s transformation from rugged terrain to cultural playground.
The Audience as Part of the Spectacle
Approximately 400 guests arrived by snowmobile, winding through the trails surrounding the T-Lazy-7 Ranch before settling into heated seats within an outdoor amphitheater built exclusively for the occasion.
Among them were Jennie Kim—wearing Moncler Grenoble’s proprietary technical denim—alongside Adrien Brody, Penn Badgley, Emily Ratajkowski, and Tessa Thompson, reinforcing the event’s seamless blend of performance wear, cultural capital, and modern celebrity.
