FALL/WINTER 2026 — FEMININITY, TENSION AND THE POWER OF PRESENCE

There is something almost electric about stillness. For Fall/Winter 2026, MIU MIU enters the half-light, constructing a world in which femininity is neither explained nor softened, but allowed to exist in all its contradictions. Quiet power needs no introduction. Sometimes, presence is enough.

The campaign feels deliberately removed from the polished clarity traditionally associated with fashion imagery. Instead, flashes interrupt darkness, surfaces become heightened, and the boundaries between the tangible and imagined begin to dissolve. The result is not simply a seasonal portrait but an atmosphere — intimate, cinematic and slightly unreal.

Against this crepuscular landscape, Bieber and Ju appear almost isolated from their surroundings. Their gaze is direct. Their posture is composed. Nothing feels overly performed, yet every gesture carries intention.

A NEW IDEA OF FEMININITY

Under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada, contradiction once again becomes one of Miu Miu's most compelling languages. Vulnerability exists beside control. Innocence meets awareness. Intimacy gives way to detachment, only to return again.

These qualities are not presented as opposing identities. They coexist within the same woman, the same silhouette, sometimes even within the same garment.

At Miu Miu, femininity is never a fixed idea. It is something authored in real time.

Clothing becomes central to this dialogue. It can protect and expose simultaneously — functioning as both armor and expression. Garments sit close to the body, yet their softness prevents them from feeling restrictive. The effect is sensual without obvious seduction, delicate without fragility.

THE BEAUTY OF CONTRADICTION

The season's material vocabulary is particularly rich. Stretch poplin and washed double cashmere meet leather, linen and tweed, while embroidered tulle and satin introduce a more intimate dimension. Lingerie-derived details — ribbons, bows and delicate finishes — appear not as decoration, but as subtle disruptions within otherwise assured silhouettes.

This tension is essential. The collection understands that softness can carry authority, just as romanticism can feel entirely contemporary.

Delicacy is not the opposite of strength. Here, it becomes another expression of it.

Then come the proportions. Oversized outerwear introduces a different kind of drama: shearling-lined zip jackets, enveloping silhouettes and an opera coat fastened close to the breastbone. Trapper hats add an almost cinematic nostalgia, recalling fragments of vintage glamour without allowing the collection to become trapped in the past.

The references may feel familiar, but the attitude belongs firmly to now.

OBJECTS OF DESIRE

Accessories continue the conversation between familiarity and reinvention. The Vivant, the softly constructed Rendez-vous and the unmistakable Arcadie appear in supple leather, bringing tactile warmth to the collection's darker visual universe.

Footwear moves between rediscovery and provocation. The Bubble shoe, first associated with Miu Miu's early-2000s vocabulary, returns with renewed relevance. Stretch leather knee-high boots introduce a sharper line, while elaborate slides offer something more exposed — simultaneously precious and pragmatic.

The archive returns, but nostalgia is never the destination.

Eyewear loosely references the 1970s, creating another compelling contradiction. Dark lenses offer privacy while simultaneously intensifying the gaze. Concealment becomes a way of being noticed.

BETWEEN REALITY AND REVERIE

Zoe Ghertner's photography refuses conventional depth. Flash compresses the space, textures become almost tactile, and the industrial environment dissolves into abstract fields of midnight, cobalt and electric blue.

The moving images extend this sensation. Under the direction of Renell Medrano, what appears motionless begins to feel performative. A glance becomes an event. A gesture becomes narrative. The everyday slips almost imperceptibly into cinema.

This is where the Fall/Winter 2026 campaign becomes more than an exercise in image-making. It proposes an entire mood: a woman alone within the frame, fully conscious of being observed yet entirely in possession of her own image.

Dressing becomes declaration. Stillness becomes performance. Presence becomes power.

There is no need for excess because the tension already exists. Between softness and severity. Between darkness and flash. Between what is revealed and what remains deliberately withheld.

And perhaps this is the most compelling expression of the Miu Miu woman today. She does not resolve her contradictions for the benefit of the observer. She inhabits them.

Fall/Winter 2026 is not simply about what she wears. It is about the authority with which she chooses to be seen.
